We just need to let the new look grow on us... but actually its not that odd... see review on www.motioncars.com...

"2004 Mitsubishi Adventure

The sportiest among the AUVs, the Mitsubishi Adventure finally sports a look that’s befitting its character. Several hints point towards a new SUV look primarily the large triangular headlamps and the trademark Mitsubishi nose. The chrome inserts between the upright grille separators is reminiscent of the formidable L200 Strada pick-up. In addition, the Adventure sports door claddings, fender flares and a rear spare tire carrier (for the Grand Sport).

Inside, the Adventure gains some much needed detail attention to escape midlife crisis. The Grand Sport’s cockpit looks handsome with bucket seats now replacing the torrid front bench. The bucket seats themselves feature a thicker, more comfortable material as well as heavier bolstering for improved long-distance touring capability. In addition, it gets front seat back trays and cup holders similar to Ford’s Escape SUV. The center console is eye-catching as well with its great looking Titanium accent.

With the 10-seater AUV rule thrown out the window, Mitsubishi Motors has given the Grand Sport a 2+3+2 seating for a total of seven passengers—again similar to the Ford Everest. However, the Adventure promises more flexibility with its 50/50 split-fold sideward tumbling third row in addition to a split-fold tumbling second row. All passengers get their own seatbelts as well.

Being sporty doesn’t mean being barebones as the new Grand Sport features dual air conditioning, an in-dash CD player with 6-speaker system, a tire pressure monitoring system, keyless entry and get this—an overhead LCD monitor with DVD player.

All Adventures will be powered by the familiar 4D56 2.5-liter diesel engine or the 4G63 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The latter is of particular interest since it is the most powerful in its class, generating 114 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 16.8 kg-m of torque. It is also the only one to carry a catalytic converter, reducing emissions.

The 2004 Mitsubishi Adventure has a myriad of new features that's not just skin deep. It now features bucket seat in front (third from top) as well as a front facing third row (bottom). "
