Question revo 1.8 vs revo 2.0 fuel efficiency

i've talked once to a toyota casa mechanic and nasabi nya mas matipid daw yung 2.0 kesa sa 1.8 (that's everything else equal).

he's explanation is that both of the cars have relatively the same weight, since the 2.0 offers a greater(?) push than the 1.8, the earlier will be more efficient in moving the cars weight than the latter.

I'm not sure if I'm going to believe what that man had said, not sure also if he just wants me to buy the much expensive 2.0 then. but guys and gals, what's your perspective on this issue

yup sa palagay ko rin. i myself drive the 2.0 compared it with my cousin's 1.8 mas matipid siya kasi mas mabilis mag upshift kaya less time na nakadepress yung accelerator kasi nga mas mabilis humatak. pero kung bumper to bumper traffic naman let's say for
one hour na bumper to bumper traffic mas malakas yung 2.0.

looks like he's talking bout RAV4s

Alex.... i'd tend to agree with the mechanic. Given the same driving style, you will shift at a lower RPM with the bigger engine, because you'd have achieved the desired torque earlier...... therefore, you would be consuming less gas.

Of course thats only my opinion.

The bigger deal would be the engine design. pareho bang fuel injected yung engines.

Yung torque, well, iyon medyo lamang.

Automatic yung RAV4 ko e, so parang hindi patas if we compare km/L figures. Pero sige lets see... sa akin i get 9.0km/L, ikaw?
