Has anybody experienced CRDi (injectors / supply pumps, etc) isssues with their Hyundai diesels? Anong year model ang vehicle nyo at ilan na ang km reading sa odometer?
I've only heard of two cases... one here, one off-line... If I remember correctly, 130,000 kilometers was one of the reports... it was an older Starex CRDi.
No report on where the vehicle was fueled and other maintenance information...

Yes, we are seeing a lot of them now......normal failure due to high mileage.
They're bound to fail, with (use and) mileage. So, you need to observe 'tool life' for these critical parts.

Baka sa Tsikot members na owner ng Hyundai CRDI vehicle wala pa. Toyota CRDI siguro pwede pa At 130,000 Kms kung masira ay sulit ka na noon siguro. Imagine mo ba naman operating pressure of 1600 BARS or over 23,000 psi somehow may bibigay talaga sa katagalan. Kung hindi man injectors ay yong high pressure pump.
My ride (Innova DSL) has been diagnosed with injector problems kasi... early stage daw... I'm thinking of having it checked in a different outlet for a 2nd opinion.. kapag yun talaga.. maybe I can just have it sold and find a different unit... mas gusto ko sana ay diesel.. but most of the diesels around in the local market ay naka CRDi na (Isuzu except for Crosswind, innova, fortuner, everest / ranger, tucson, starex) .. kaya I thought of asking kung sa Hyundai ba eh ganun din ang problem... syanga pala.. my unit already has 110t kms, just past its 4th year of use...

actually, the "pang negosyo" starex variants still use the old nonturbo engines.
The Mitsu Adventure still uses the 4D56 afaik..not my personal choice for a non-CRDi ride though.
Starex meron pa yung old diesel yung TCi ata tawag nila duon...

Yup. It's a good choice if you want a modern car with decent crash safety with a relatively low-maintenance engine (low-maintenance relative to CRDis, that is).
110k on the Innova isn't unexpected, but it could be better... Injector and fuel system life will depend on where you fuel up and how often you change the fuel filter. I've had Crosswinds blow fuel pumps at just 120k kms... and another is now going at 150k kms... but the one that I personally maintain has already hit 170k kms with absolutely no fuel system issues.
Luck of the draw, I guess.
But for CRDis, talagang maselan sila sa old diesel. I don't know if the new low sulfur diesel has the same effect, pero kung 4 years old yung Innova, it may have still gotten enough of the old stuff to cause damage.
Andaming lumang CRDi Troopers at Nissan Patrols na may issues.
Wonder if we can retrofit old-style injectors in the Focus TDCi and detune it when it hits 150k?

TCI is ok. However, this is also an electronically managed engine. The injection pump is electronic....... more expensive to repair that those with regular VE rotary injection pumps. Ask Hyundai for the price of a replacement pump when it goes bad.

Sir Doeseldude,
What specific problems does hyundai starex crdi engine's on high (or low) mileage have for i am planning to get one in the near future. Are problems confined to hyundai or common to all modern crdi engines.
