Default Forester or Escape

My friend (actually a girl) is thinking of buying a Forester or the Escape. What are the pros and cons of each of the vehicle so I may relay them to her? I suggested the Ford Escape coz of the wider body and hindi kaya hirap parts ng Forester?

Default escape

its hands down escape for me! ...if...you can get a unit!..I was supposed to get one but the ahente told me the soonest i can get one is march or april and that was last month pa and allocation for branches are only 2 per month because they are prioritizing thailand exports..rather than us...i havent personally seen the new forester but one thing i know gm service centers are scarce and parts should be hard to come by..i dont know if you can get one right away too...i didnt like the driving position..it was too low..wagon talaga sya and i think it didnt really change much..maybe if you were comparing the forester to other wagons such as astra or vectra baka piliin ko pa forester...but if mini suvs to forester...Escape!!

daddy::: Between the two, i'd prefer the escape. But please be informed that in the states, the Ford Escape has already experienced at LEAST FOUR RECALLS Hindi po nangyayari sa pinas ito. It's when theres a design defect in the car and the manufacturer wants the units fixed.

...... personally sir, id Rather have a RAV4

kimps::: I hope toyota motors phils. realizes this..... Sana they's come up with a 2wd rav4. Definitely mura coz walang excise tax, besides halos bale wala naman yung 4wd nito coz walang low range. But very good looking pa ren

.....im gonna go balimbing..... Forester na lang po..... im not sure about parts tho.....

If you want a hassle-free ownership then go for the Forester. Pros includes a strong boxer engine, handles like a car and a smooth ride. My only gripe is that the 2nd row seats are non-existent so if you're into cargo and passenger space and would like to go offroading once in a while then the Escape it is.

Kung may V6 na Escape then definitely sa Escape na ako

Default try before u buy

alam mo sa lahat ng nagtatanong which is the best..the best way to know is to go to the showroom (after reading all you can gather about your choices..)and sit on it..that's what i do..u sit on the drivers seat..ask yourself..is it worth it? ..the 1.3M that i would spend on this car..are the plastics to your liking...the best dont buy kaagad..wait..usually lahat naman ng bago gusto natin eh..except kung talagang appalling yung design sa yo..like the serena for me...

If she can wait why not the kia sorento? I bet if kia releases the sorento here, it would give toyota, honda and ford a run for their money. Kia seem to have made a good impression on quality when they released the carnival/sedona here and they are reaping the rewards! But one cannot easily remove the stigma of the lousy kia pride, but then again, with the carnival, they have set the impression that they are dead serious on quality and service. I just hope they keep it up.

thanks for the info. il relay all your opinions to her. kung 1.3 mil or more nga, y dont get the RAV4. but the forester has more space for cargo. she drives a crv(old model) and she plans to sell it. mas more space pa nga crv than the Rav4. too wagon nga yung forester. more family use tingin ko.

pajerokid,

hindi naman useless yung 4wd ng rav4 dahil walang low-range... this would be like saying the 4wd system of rally cars are useless. the rav4's 4wd is designed for wet roads, snow, sand, and gravel... and in that respect, it works well.

for 1.3M hands down rav4 nga! if strictly between the forester and escape 4x4, i'd go with the forester

uhmm...the local ford escape is equipped with a 2.0 zetec engine -- the same engine of the ford focus and just recently, ford recalled 572,795 Focus cars for a variety of reasons including potential engine fires. one of the problems has to do with Ford's Zetec engines, in which, the battery cable could melt and cause under-hood fires.

Agree ako with Kiper :-)

Though the escape has been plagued by numerous recalls in the past, Ford has learned a lot from these problems and the current model seems to have sufficiently addressed these mechanical gremlins.

After all, I'm sure nobody will doubt Ford's engineering experience when it comes to SUV design. Yung bagong CRV nga kakadiscover na may problem yung parking brake sa states and Honda USA is recalling several thousands of these vehicles.

So, back to your question.... both vehicles are pretty good but I think the escape will give you more versatility in terms of vehicle capabilities...
