In the RFC of Malaysia a good number of "custom" made snorkels can be seen on majority of the participating vehicles, this may be coz of a lot of the vehicles have been modified to the extent that thier engines have been replaced making them difficult to install after market snorkels, but if you are concerned of "form and finish" an after market piece is really nice to look at
Among the two, mas gusto ko yung Safari. Because it looks good with the head facing forward or backward. Hindi din 'aerodynamic' ang look nito. Bagay na bagay sa mga rigs natin.

PAJEROKID,
To answer your question re w/c is better between Airtec (TJM) and Safari. Both are manufactured in Australia, both use polyethylene plastic for their snorkels. Both function in the same manner.
The difference between the 2 lie in the snorkel head and body design - mostly aesthetics. And in the intermediate tubes and components linking the snorkel to the air cleaner.
I cannot say which of the 2 are better - it boils down to ones preference in design and manufacturers reputation. FYI Airtec does original equipment snorkels for Nissan Australia and Ford Australia.
Most of the local snorkel lookalikes are made from hand laden fiberglass - you should not expect a superior fit. It will not be as impact resistant as polyethylene.
Local snorkels utilize flexible ridged or corrugated tubes to connect the snorkel to the air cleaner so one can not expect an efficient flow of air.
hmmm...realy hard to decide! hehe... either way performance gain are points to both? any inputs on the engine performance upon installation of the snorkel? Sir freeman! thanks for the info! I'll try dropping by your shop sometime!
