Re: Kia Carnival vs. Nissan Serena
I had the old nissan serena and replaced it with a kia carnival...
here are my personal comparisons
serena
- better ride
- easy to fit in narrow roads since its thinner
carnival
- engine more powerful compared to sr20.. not sure for the newer engine
- had a lot of additional features... specially the ex variant
regarding warp.. i had some similar problem with my nissan serena twice.....
so far, during my 1 year of ownership with my kia, here are some of the problems i encountered...
1. sliding door problem (repaired under warranty by columbian)
2. had a crack in my upper console (replaced under warranty by kia - quirino)
need to be check
3. brakes for possible warp
4. transmission (guys paki observe na din), everytime I placed the tranmission to PARK, nag jerk siya.. minsan wala minsan mayroon. (is this normal)
so far no major headache.. happy with my kia carnival
for the serena, after 5 years of ownership
claimed during warranty.
1. sliding door problem
2. disc rotor
3. alternator
4. there was a tube that was replaced that is attached in the radiator (i don't know what its called)
5. engine support
6. stabilizer links
after three years...
1. alternator replaced again (yep twice)
2. repaste the disc rotor due to warp
3. replaced almost all essentials suspension parts.. btw, I replaced the stabilizer link twice in my last two years of ownership...
btw, i sold my serena for 350T last year, and additional 50K+ coming from columbian and the odometer reading was only 40K.
IMHO, for 1.5M, check for other alternatives aside from the nissan serena, its still old, may bago ng nissan serena sa JAPAN ...
