Nissan is offering us our first look at the brand new 370Z with the release of a set of high-resolution pictures ahead of the sports coupe's world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19 November. As anticipated, the Japanese automaker did not reveal any technical details on the 350Z's successor, but it's no secret that the new Z' will share its more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine that can be hooked up to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic transmission with the latest generation Infiniti G37 Coupe and Sedan models.
The design team over at Nissan's headquarters chose an evolutionary approach for the 370Z's exterior styling but the sports coupe does appear to sit on a shorter wheelbase than the current 350Z. It also looks like it features a shorter rear overhang which results to a more aggressive stance that reminds us of the BMW Z4 Coupe, one of the Z's main rivals.
Open up the door -well, theoretically speaking, and you'll see that Nissan retained the basic architecture of the cabin with the three large instruments in front of the driver and the three smaller ones on top of the center console. There are of course new controls and a more modern navigation / stereo system, but 350Z owners will feel quite at home. Nissan's people swear however that the cheap, hard plastics of the current 350Z have been replaced by high quality materials, but this is something that we have to see in person.
