how to detect damage MAF?

mga bosing newbie po ask ko lng kasi wla ako nbasa sa search function regarding sa behavior ng car pag sira n ang MAf sensor?..nissan ECCS po auto ko..

kc feeling ko MAF ang sira ng sakin e..pag naka aircon kasi ako nag iidle drop sya every few seconds. pag nakastop po..tulong naman po tnx..

Remove it, clean it maybe your MAF sensor is dirty, but before removing disconnect the battery cable first, if the check engine light is on, this will put it out. You are better off to clean it with with carburator cleaner then put it back. Hope this help.

tnx for the reply bro..already done cleaning it bro..nilinis ko n lhat mula MAF,throtle plate,aac valve pati ung manifold pero ganon p rin..MAF n kya un?..

An engine w/ bad MAF sensor may be hard to start or stall after starting. Minsan it may hesitate under load, surge idle, rough or run excesively rich or lean. Your engine may also hiccup when the throttle suddenly changes position.

Of course, lahat yon ay symtoms sa MAF pero, dont overlook the basics, kagaya ng low engine compression, low vacuum, low fuel pressure, leaky or dirty injectors, ignition misfire, excessive backpressure(plugged na yong converter) at iba pa, since problems in any of these ay parang similar sa MAF problem at contributor din sa problema. So before changing MAF, wont cost you to check those area too. Good luck.
