Personal choice would be the Grand Starex.

Spacious, and a powerful diesel engine to boot.

The obvious best choice here is Grand Starex CRDi VGT (174hp)

The new Serena is actually using the new QR25 engine rather than the old SR20 in the previous Serena. Which means that power and economy should be better (well... the economy should be decent, at least).

It's still not as big or spacious as the Grand Starex. That vehicle is huge!

Grand Starex.

Engine can keep up with the Serena in straight line. Will even smoke it in inclines. Will run at cheaper fuel per liter and will most probably consume less. Heck! that's the engine alone.

Space, features, value, resale and new-ness all still belongs to the Grand Starex.

how big is the "family" to fit into the van? or How big is your garage to accomodate a huge van?

Thanks for the info. Parang puro Starex lahat ah. Maliit lang family namin. 6 lang kami but we prefer a bigger car para mas maluwag.

I actually have a soft spot in my heart for the Serena... but if you're looking at that, the Mitsubishi Grandis is much better in terms of looks.

the mitsu grandis is relatively small, even compared to the serena. The serena has roomier interior despite its size.

Yun nga lang... it's really more of a seven seater car than an MPV.
