ito din naiisip ko kung pwede dati pa, kasi di naman ako mangangarera kaya di ko kailangan ng 4age, kumbaga just to have an extra 10-30%(assume) power from gli and 20-40%(again assume) power para sa TS w/c is xl for overtaking instances only and such tingin ko magiging matipid din to sa gas since sa ighter body siya ilalagay. sukat nga kaya kasi diba parang 4afe at 7afe din yun na 2.0 lang ang displacement?

Haven't seen one done yet, but if you think about it, the Corona's heavier S3-FE engine only makes 126hp.

We have a Corolla XL too, and we plan to upgrade the engine sometime in the future.
Our options:
A) 110hp 1.6 liter 4A-FE (like the one in the GLi)
B) 160hp 1.6 liter 20-valve 4AGE silvertop (like the one in the JDM Corolla GT)

If you're going to go to the trouble of doing it, might as well get the 20V 4AGE.

I think the 160hp 4AGE silvertop with transmission costs about P25K+
A surplus "EFi" Corolla fuel tank should be around P3500+

It should work. If you recall the Corolla WRC, it was basically the corolla hatchback body with a 3S-GTE engine from the Celica Alltrac. The 3S-FE shared its block with that engine.

Then again you're prolly better off with the 3S-GE or 3S-GTE, or barring that one of the 4A-GE variants.

3SFE wont fint in a corolla kasi mataas ang 3SFE at puede ka abutin ng 70k due to vast modifications needed pero kung nagawa mas mauuna ung makina kasi sa corona palang malakas na siya what more to a smaller car

used to own a corona. imo, efficient ang 3sfe. used to get 7-8kms/liter. what more pa on a lighter corolla.
