have to personally see both on the road and test drive both cars muna bago magdecide... pero on paper, sa city ako with the 7-speed cvt A/T

from the looks of it, the City trumps the Vios in interior utility and transmission technology (the city has only a 1.3L engine as of now though)

City is said to be more spacious and on paper, it seems better because of the 7-speed transmission. It's quite odd why it has 7 ratios; perhaps the first production vehicle to have such number of gears.

Vios 1.5 will come with a 16-valve VVTi engine, as compared to the City with only 8-valves. The Honda has a DSi engine instead of the usual VTEC. It is also used in the Fit/Jazz hatchback, with a promise of good fuel economy.

Which one is better overall? The test drive should decide that!

squala,

the new City has a continuously variable transmission (CVT), effectively an infinite-speed transmission. it actually uses much more than just 7 ratios.

korek!!!! CVTs are infinitely variable.... hence, these "gear ratios" are just settings. I think a 6peed (like the Lancer MX) would suffice.

on the 1.3L segment of both the Vios and City, IMHO the City is the clear winner, more amenities and a new technology on the engine and transmission. now comparing the 1.3L City vs the 1.5 Vios, IMHO the engine of the Vios is its leading edge over the City (obviously), however if Honda brings in the 1.5L variant with a VTEC3 engine now which 1.5L would be best in terms of engine and an overall package? take note that the previous City with a VTEC engine squeezes 115hp. on the competetive side and brand loyalty i guess its up to the consumer to decide. peace

1.3 lang muna then after a year or two ilabas din nila yung 1.5?
ganyan kasi yung nangyari nung 1997 na ilabas nila
yung city 1.3 lang both LXi and EXi pa yun..pero after a year or two nag

market strategy and even "market intelligence".........the analogy is either to keep up with your competitor or be one step ahead of it.
