Default Mazda CX9 vs Hyundai VeraCruz

Japan vs Korea ?
3.7 V6 Gas vs 3.0 V6 CRDI ?
2.6 vs 2.8 ?
3 years/100K kms vs 5 years/100K kms ?
ZoomZoomZoom vs Driving Your Way ?

pls help to compare these two based on the following criteria:

External/Internal Design
"Perceived Reliability"
Resale Value
Standard/Included Electronic Gadgets
other considerations

tia.

What about initial acquisition cost? I know VC costs around 3M to roll out of the showroom. CX9 = ?
These are very similar SUV's in external styling. I just don't know if the CX9 seats 7 also. But with the rising fuel cost, it would be practical to get the CRDI instead.

At 2.6 - 2.8m, you're not really thinking about saving fuel, are you? The 200,000 peso difference will buy you enough gasoline to last a year... or more.

The CX9 is probably the better vehicle to drive, but the VeraCruz offers you a lot for your money.

We're working on getting test units now... stay tuned...

Hehe... good point... most vehicles that cost 2M+ anyway aren't that "fuel efficient" to begin with.

What's intriguing with the VeraCruz really is its 462Nm of gut-pulling torque.

that's why fuel economy is not included in the criteria

VeraCruz wins in the details ... lots of "power" options included ... power tailgate, power steering column adjustments,
for those people who think with their heads

CX9 wins in the "looks" department IMO ...
for those people who feel with their hearts

Yep, 20". But I think the VC is more comfortable.

I agree... and the CX-9 looks better too.
Never really liked the grill of the VeraCruz... looks like some inverted Toyota grill.

CX9 is undohbtedly a better SUV but the price should be less than 2M imo and comparo should be done not with a VC CRDI but with the RAV4.

Well, I don't know how much this should matter, but then the Tribute drives like a tall car with a relatively firm-ish ride. Comfy to an extent, but more suited for better high speed handling. I wonder if the CX9 was designed "with the soul of a sports car". Hehehe!

Really? Is it about the size of a RAV4/much smaller than the VC?

CX9 is a 7 seater CUV. RAV4 has no 3rd row.
CX9 is longer than the VC and has the same width.

RAV4 MSRP in the U.S. is mid 20K
CX9 and VC ( 3.8L V6 Gas engine ) in the U.S. is in the high 20K ~ mid 30K range

Ooops my bad...kala ko kasi this is just a beefed up a 5 seater soft roader. This is the reason why I'm asking about the 3rd row...he-he.
