They're the same thing.

We placed monroe shocks in our ae101 before. The ride and handling of the car improved. so i would reccomend it.

Default survey on ae101 corolla

when (odo reading or year) kayo nagkaroon ng mga major problems sa rolla nyo like problem ng mga sumusunod:

1. ignition system (starter, distributor, etc)
2. cooling system (radiator, water pump, fan, etc)
3. a/c system (compressor, drier, expansion valve, condenser, aux fan, etc)
4. alternator
5. transmission
6. clutch
7. engine
8. steering ( rack and pinion, pump, hose)
9. suspension
others.

yung akin, 95 rolla gli and now at 100,000 km/8 years, ang mga napalitan na ay:

timing belt (including tensioner and oil seals) - 95,000 km/~8yrs
clutch assembly & drive shaft oil seals(indluing tranny support) - 98,000km/~8yrs
evaporator - 50,000 km/~5yrs
rear struts - 48,000km/~4.5 yrs
front and rear engine supports - ~after 5.5 years
tie rods, ball joint - after 6 years
rack and pinion leak - hindi pa napapaayos more than 1.5 years (narepair na rin ang hose mga after 6.5 years)

yung sa inyo ano na? this will be good at least we have data of some sort of when to expect failure. heheh depende pa rin sa gamit di ba? pero para may idea tayo. makikita din natin common failures ng mga rolla natin.

94 yung akin, 102k odo na
Item:
1) Wala pa
2) 2000... Cracked radiator top
3) 99-2001... faulty compressor, worn out aux fan.
4) 2000... fault of mechanic, shorted my battery, fried my IC. 2002... fault of mine, forgot to cover alternator while cleaning engine, rusted my diodes.
5) Tranny... 99 replaced clutch disc, pressure plate and tensioner... again nung 2002 (replacement parts lang kasi)
6) Engine... Wala naman except sa punit na goma sa high tension wire. Maintenance yung timing belt, oil seals, tensioner etc at 86K odo.. Engine support din nga pala.
7) Steering... Power steering leak 2001, replaced hose and rack and pinion repair kit.
8) Suspension... hanggang ngayon hehe.

We used to have 92 GLi.

1. Never had a problem with this part.
2. Like theveed, cracked top, then changed the whole radiator to 3 rows for more cooling effect, changed water pump (I used the water pump from Corona 3S-G3 engine) Year: 2001
3. Aside from annual cleaning, busted freon hose crimps Year: 1999. Thermostat diode Year: 1998
4. Never had a problem with this part.
5. Never had a problem with this part.
6. Replaced clutch disc, clutch release bearing, & pressure plate Year: 2000.
7. Replaced timing belt, idler pulley and tensioner at 78,000kms. Everything else was left bone stock. Except for re-adjusted tuppets. Year: 2000
8. P/S hose burst, caused damage to P/S pump. Changed everything to new OEM parts and specs. Year: 2000
9. Still running the original bushings & shocks up to the next owner which is one of our relatives.
