Re: Skyline Engine
The Skyline engine doesn't fit the Sentra because it's a front-to-back engine, not a sideways mount. The only local models that can take the Skyline engine are the 200SX (Silvia) and the Cefiro GTS-R (other Cefiros are also sideways or transverse mounts).
The Altima engine, the SR20DE, will fit, but you'll need to customize your axles if you can't find a pair that fits. The danger of using customized (shaved) axles is the tendency to break if you're drag racing or driving hard.
An SR20DE (140-145 hp) swap will cost you around 40-60 thousand pesos, depending on how much has to be changed. I'm pretty sure you'll need a new fuel pump installed with the engine, too. And it pays to hunt around for SR20 axles that will fit your car.
The SR20DET (200 hp+) will fit, and local shops like Fusion R can do it, but it's expensive, around 100 thousand pesos, I believe, or more.
But as you're installing, I suggest you also upgrade your brakes, suspension and body (stiffen it with strut braces, front and back, and have the body seams double-welded) so that it can take the power. I've seen Box-type Nissan Californias fully restored, with SR20DETs in them, and they're great "sleepers".
Only other engine that will fit might be the Cefiro's VQ20DE or VQ30DE, but that's a very hard and very expensive swap... one that I haven't seen done locally, yet.
