2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R
The 2008 Nissan Skyline has broken cover in Germany. The car has just arrived for testing on the Nürburgring this week, and TheCarConnection's spies have shot these near-production photos of the new supercar.
The production version due out as a 2008 model will likely feature a twin-turbo V-6 displacing somewhere between 3.5 and 3.8 liters. Look for something "in excess of 450 horsepower." Expect the car the reach Japanese showrooms soon after the '07 Tokyo Show, with aU.S. launch in early 2008.
There will be. This will be the first truly international Skyline (the last one was only meant for the Japanese market).
Those pictures don't say much. They look exactly like the show car in disguise. Nissan will probably still change the design once road-testing is finished, as 2008 is still a long ways away.

Most top-tune street-legal Skylines are in the 700-800 hp range.
But it's true, the Skyline's engine is legendarily strong when it comes to turbocharging, and a 2.6 at 1000 hp is a little more impressive than a 3.6 at the same power...
If only the transmissions could survive that much power... a lot of Skyline drag racers spend a lot of time buying new trannies... ...must be a Nissan thing, a lot of turbo- SR20 boys (back when I was with the Nissan club) had the same problem...

yeah stock Rb26 bottome end can handle up to 600hp beyond that you need to rebuilt it.I guess to achieve 1000hp you have to bore or probably resleeved the wall so it's goin to be probably 2.7 or 2.8l.
Never heard of trans problem probably skylines here are *rare* they don't even drag it .I know somebody with 600whp+ 350z daily driven, drag abuse without trans problem.
