I'm buying a used car for my daughter and she want 03-04 Model Honda Civic, I read somewhere here in Forum there's some sort of problem with the fuel line or gas tank. Is this true or I mis read it wrong and if there's a problem what is it?. Thanks in advance...

why not get her a new car instead... wala pa sakit ng ulo...
There's a recall bulletin on the fuel tank where a part/bracket needs to be changed. You can have the CASA check this and if it hasnt been done, it will be replaced under the recall bulletin.
i think, correct me if i'm wrong eh kaunting difference lang iyun price ng 2004 civic na 2nd hand at brand new civic...
pwede rin instead na civic na 2nd hand why not opt for a brand new city...
or better tiis nalang muna hanggan makapag ipon ng pambili ng bago...
iyun lang naman...
(ebs= for lack of a better word eh it means ebak) baka iban ako pag sinabi ko ****... opps... sorry
OT: Buying used cars can be fun [and cheap to boot!]. Buying a car at the dealer is quite boring [and financially draining].
A few months ago, we went out to look at a Feroza somewhere in Rizal. The great thing was, no one among the four of us was familiar with the area and we were going there in the evening (after office hours).
So with a map, we tried to locate the residence of the seller. Sobrang dilim sa village nila. Pagdating namin sa tulay, BRIDGE OUT PALA! Anak ng tipaklong, pwede pala kaming mahulog sa ilog. hehehe.
Kung san sang gubat na ko sumuot when checking out units. Lalo na yung for sale by owners kasi kapag ahente minsan willing dalhin yung car to meet you. Ok naman, magandang learning experience.

If you love your daughter, don't buy such a car! Get an Altis instead. Trust me.
Well, a few hundred thousand is a big difference between bnew and used cars, and if you really like the model, have the gas tank issue checked by a dealership. I don't see why your second hand dealer won't agree to this. Haven't had that prob here in the US though.
Second hands are IMO a better buy than a bnew (depreciation-wise) if you're not too meticulous.
03-04 civics have the matagtag na ride compare to other civics generations being released... but the 8th gen civic has been fitted with the same suspension as the 6th gen civic and lower... but still it is more comfy compare to other brands... just be sure that you know the owner of the car you are buying from and how he maintains or uses his civic... dont worry kung meron mga konteng kalawang or any dents in the body it can be fixed easily... the most important to check is the engine... yana ng buhay ng kotse mo kc.. the civic could still run even with out a body attahced to it.... make sure its in good condition and maintained well... no leaks, nice smooth sound when in idle... and test drive it if the engine performs well... suspension or underchassis is the next thing to look at... but that can be easily fixed too...
Thanks to you all for your good advice and comments. Unfortunately when we went to dealer to look for a Honda, she tested a 03 Nissan Exalta Grandeur. She feel in love of all the extra features the Grandeur had. Lucky for me, I save a lot of cash but I'm also worried of the high maintenance repair cost of Nissan that I'm reading on this site.. Again thanks to all..
