Default Updates pls: suzuki swift vs Honda Jazz 1.5 VTEC

What's your choice? I've read the previous threads/reviews but its swift vs Jazz 1.3. I plan to use it as a 2nd car. Priorities: 1) safety 2) fuel economy 3) space 4) speed & power 5) looks/porma not important. I plan to use it for 1-2 years only then sell it. Thanks for your input :-)

if looks aren't your priority, then i'd go for a Honda Jazz.

If you want to enjoy your 2-year ownership, then the swift is a better choice. Heck a rewarding experience... Madami magdrool nyan while you drive... hehehehe

Seriously though, if you have the money, swift pa rin... baka after driving this for 2 years e you will decide to keep this...

Eto rin pinagpilian namin before, mas cute ang Swift, pero sobrang sikip sa loob, wala ka na halos compartment... kaya we selected Jazz and we think we made an excellent decision.

Luke

based on your priorities and the planned resale after 2 years, i believe the 1.5 jazz is your better choice

well, in terms of practicality I'd say go get the Jazz. On the other hand the Suzuki is also a good choice if you want exclusivity. I think the Suzuki Swift may also have a good resale value after two years.

safety - same, mostly
fuel economy - Jazz 1.3 (but if it's 1.5 vs 1.5, they're similar)
space - Jazz, hands down
speed/power - Swift 1.5... but if you're considering the Jazz 1.5, the Jazz is faster
looks/porma - Swift is somewhat better looking, more exclusive. But the Jazz is still cute

The Swift is a good toy, but if you're planning to sell after just two years, a Jazz 1.3 is a better choice, as it will have very good resale value, and you can probably sell it off quickly when you need to.

I think of all the Jazzes, the 1.3 MT might retain its value the best. People are always on the lookout for fuel efficient secondhands, and a good rule of thumb nowadays is: the smaller the engine, the higher the retained value.

But then, a car isn't necessarily an investment. You always lose money when you buy a car, that's why I don't like buying cars and keeping them for only two or three years. You've already lost money on it, right? And if you trade it in for a newer one, you're still losing money on that one, right? Might as well get the most you can out of it.

But if you're going the two year route, the Jazz 1.3 is the least painful. Or get a secondhand Jazz 1.3, then sell it after two years, it should still retain a huuuuge chunk of its value.

From your criteria, Jazz wins hands down. I'm a very satisfied owner of one and the space is just incredible. Fuel economy is up there and comfort as well.

I just bought my Jazz 1.5 CVT yesterday at Shaw, all i can say is "SUPERB" Malaki siya pagnsa loob kna its like driving a 4 door sedan. and the engine is quiet very responsive although di ko pa sinusubikan ifloor ng maigi coz its still in break in period hehehehe!!! at 1st i thought that this jazz is too small for me at sa family ko. i have 2 kids and 1 yaya na laging kasa sa amin. pero maluwag pa talga. my father was telling me "Ang panget" "Ang liit" "Parang pagong" pero nung inuwi namin yung jazz at tinest drive niya halos ayaw ng bumaba at nakikipag palit sa akin ng Innova hahahahahaha!!!!!

Kya pra sa aking JAZZ ako. (sana lang wala munang bagong upgrade ang jazz for 3 years hehehehe!!!) pra di pa maluma yung sa akin
