Default Toyota Land Cruiser

Just need some information. How much would a 1992 Land Cruiser cost. I am not very familiar with the model but it is the big body (not the square one). The it has a 6 cyclinder gas engine and the emblem on the back is GS or GX (I forgot) and it say 4500. Is this a good 4x4?

Appreciate any and all your insights.

Thanks,
paul

Marami kasing Land Cruiser models at any given time, eh. May LC70 series a.k.a. Land Cruiser II, may LC90 series a.k.a. Prado and there's the LC80 a.k.a. the 'mataba' (just like lc80's).

I think LC80 yung sinasabi mo since it is not square. Anong market ba iyan galing? Dubai, Japan, Africa, etc?

Wherever it came from, its a pretty good 4X4. In stock form, it was unstoppable in the lahar trails of Pampanga.

Default LC80

Thanks for the inputs. Di ba mahirap ang parts? Also can you run the 4x4 all the time? Yung Vitara ko kasi the manual says only on mud or loose gravel.

paul1,

If you get a local version, hindi fulltime ang 4WD niya. Madali naman makita ang fulltime sa partime, eh. Walang manual hubs sa harap ang fulltime.

Parts are readily available at your Toyota Dealer dahil naglabas sila ng ganyang model dati.

Original LHD versions still cost around 1.2M (local) to 1.5M (Dubai or Africa) sa second hand market. Mahal yung import kasi fulltime 4wd, locking diff, dual fuel tank, winch and kung ano-ano pang matitinding features.

Yung kay lc80 is an ex-Japanese version (converted) kaya mas mura ng kaunti.

definitely you are referring to an 80 series.
meron din VX which they say is rare compared to GS/GX.
it is powered by 1HD-T turbo diesel, 4.2ltr.
i have no info on its petrol.
im sure lc80 can add more info since he uses one.

Default more questions

Thanks again for the infos.

Yun bang 1.2 to 1.5 applies to the 92 model? Mahal pa pala kalit 10 year old model na. How do you know kung africa or dubai? I'm n vot sure about the fulltime 4x4 and locking diff (don't know what to look for) but i definitely saw two fuel gauge. One on the dash board and one near the rear view mirror. Also ganun ba talaga yung loob bare masyado, wala pang aircon sa likod?

You might be referring the African model it is bare, like the GX model. I have read from a magazine that it has 2 fuel tanks (main and auxiliary tank activated by a switch). You need to look near the dash board, there is a knob that indicates OFF, RR (diff lock), FF + RR (diff lock).

paul1,
i have the VX model with the 4.2 liter I6 engine.... mas bare nga yung mag GX and GS model. yun ang gamit ng mga redcross wala atang fender flares usually... alam ko not all models have locking diffs so tignan mo muna... may mas higher model pa VX limited. may cooler sa console box and may electric winch. Yung aircon wala rin ako sa likod.

So far ok naman mga hinahanap ko na parts. nakakabili naman sa mga land cruiser specialist na stores.

paul1,

Basta hindi local model at original LHD, malamang Africa or Mid-East model iyan.

Local LC80:
*Manual locking front hubs
*Dual a/c
*10 seater configuration

Kung Mid-East model iyan, malamang sulat Arabo yung mga identification plates sa engine compartment at door jamb. May sticker din usually ng Araco (the local Toyota arm there).

The local LC80 comes only with a 4.2 turbo diesel engine only right?

Jj,
Yup, it's called HDJ80 series with 1HD-T engine, 4.2L turbo. Basically a reliable engine if cared for properly.
