ang glxi all power na, ang xe hindi pa.
ang glxi 16 valve na 1.6, ang xe 12 valve na 1.3 (not sure sa displacement).

what's good about toyota is the availability of parts.

My practical side would lean towards the Toyota. It'll definitely be easier to maintain this over the Mazda IMO. Remember, these are second hand cars so you'll expect some problems here and there that need to be addressed. Sayang yung Mazda, it was a good car but the lack of a local distributor does work to its disadvantage in the long run.

At 200K, you can also search for a '95-'96 Sentra Series 3 Supersaloon or even a '93-'95 Gli Corolla. Why not take your time in your car search?

Toyota rolla xe kana....di ka magkakaproblema sa service ng car mo...daming parts at cheaper to maintain kung pang araw-araw na gamit lang.

pros and cons:

a) The Corolla XE (they're right) has 12 valves. The Familia has 16.
b) The Corolla XE has a 1.3 engine. The Familia has a 1.6 engine.
c) The Corolla XE has power steering and windows only. The Familia comes with everything including injector, cupholders, a 10 disk CD changer.
d) The Familia has bigger space and trunk.
e) The Corolla XE has a higher resale value.
f) The Corolla XE gives more fuel savings because of its lower engine displacement.
g) The Corolla XE comes with better parts and service support.

Imho, all tied up ako eh. I may prefer the XE because of its practicality and its higher resale value but I may also prefer the Familia if I am to get a fully packaged car.

or a 93 Corona mura na ngayon yun, usually naman ang mga owners niyan upper class non 93 baka may matiyempuhan ka, kaso downside 10 years na at saka 2.0 ang engine

go with the mazda...

wag kang matakot with that "parts availability" problem... haven't had a problem with that with my mazda... dami pa ring parts jan and mas mahirap pa ngang maghanap ng honda parts kaysa sa mazda...

totoo yang "parts availability" myth. napakadami dyang brand new original and surplus parts na makikita. although mas mahal pa rin sya sa toyota (meron bang mas mura dito??) e definitely cheaper pa rin kesa honda or even nissan.

pero depende talaga sayo yan. kung more on being practical for the long term and u can live with the bare essentials (ang alam ko steering lang ang power), go for the toyota. kung gusto mo ng "complete" package but less resale value and a low key brand, go for the mazda.
