Default 98 mazda familia a good buy?

konting tulong naman mga tsikoteers.naghahanap kasi ako ng mabibiling 2nd hand car as my first vehicle and ang original na plan ko eh 97 corolla gli.may nagooffer sakin ng 98 mazda familia glxi mas mura kaysa sa corolla.ang tanong ko,ok ba kung familia glxi yung bilin ko or magsisi lang ako? sabihin natin na pareho silang good condition which is a better buy?consider ko din ang maintenance, parts availability, gas consumption, etc. ano po ang pros and cons.sensya na po bago lang ako.salamat sa mga tulong!

yup... good buy siya considering yung price nya...

things to watch out for:

- rust along the fenders
- engine support
- idling

other than that... ok yan... with ABS, 10-cd changer, power everything (cept antenna), etc.

The factory alloy mags might be prone to damage and are hard to replace without buying a whole set.

Fuel economy of the Mazda Familia 1.6L is poor even if driven conservatively. The engine performance and overall handling is good though. Ride comfort is very good because of the long suspension travel.

ung boss ko benta nya 98 mazda glxi nya ng 150k. casa maintained. excellent condition ung makina. every 5k tuneup at change oil. ok pang ilalim. may konting dents sa body. kya lng may rust/bubbles sa may right rear wheelwell (tama ba tawag dun? hehehee). ung stock 14" mags nya eh hindi na makislap. 100k mileage (las pinas - manila - las pinas). 2nd owned. boss din nya dati 1st owner. 2 years palng nung nabili nya sa boss nya....

concerned lang talaga ako sa rust at fuel efficiency....tinatawaran ko ng 145k eh ayaw. hehehe. ok na ba ung 150k na asking nya? 180k daw kc face value nya sa casa.

Thanks

from personal experience with our mazda familia glxi a/t (before we sold it)
5-7 km/L

typical driving would get me around 5.5km/L city driving with aircon.

ok na yung price na yan. yung m/t di naman masyadong malakas sa gas kung di naman mabigat paa mo. akin kasi pumpatak ng 7-9 km/l makati to rizal rush hour. highway mga 11-13 km/l.

ganda ng Mazda Familia...i love its handling and its engine sound.

GLXi has
~DOHC 16v 1.6L EFI
~all power
~ABS
~4w disc brakes
~10CD Changer
~Foglights

nice bang for the buck!

Go for Corolla....in the long run, rolla is more reliable and easy maintenance and parts availability. Napakamura naman ng Mazda na yan...make sure walang major problem yan.

hmmm... good buy na yan for 150K IMO.

yung rust/bubbles sa wheelwell eh medyo given na yan (lalo na kung hindi agad nalagyan ng secondary undercoating)

the A/T version is a known gas guzzler.

though the M/T is a bit more tolerable and is at par with other compact sedans (ours does around 7-10 km/L, depending on traffic conditions).

I also know of a unit for sale Php180k. Dark blue. Aftermarket alloy wheels. Parang yung pang-rally racing. Otherwise, stock and well kept.

What I like about the 323 is the relatively roomy cabin for the size.

Umm 2 cents worth lang po ito. Our familia 1.3 gl, sirain yung mga suspension parts and palaging need i-tono yung engine. I can't say na its all the driver's fault kasi po yung LEC namin same drivers, hindi ganun kadalas pa-repair.

normal wear and tear lang... comparable to other compact sedans.

ano na bang napagawa sa amin?

major ko lang na pinagawa is yng front & rear suspension. other than that ok pa rin... no problem sa clutch, tranny, drivetrain, brakes.
