Smile Defender 110 or Patrol or Pajero

Which of these is the most reliable? We are on the look for a big SUV that we can use for our weekend Tagaytay, Nasugbu travel. American relatives are favoring the Defender 110 since its a rare one as they said. But one of my brother wants the Patrol since its a UN regular vehicle. Pajero is just to ask for your opinion. Thanks.

Reliable Land Rover? Parang oxymoron iyan ha. hehehe

The Nissan Patrol gets my nod. Tough as nails but still comfy enough. The Defender does not even have reclining front seats and rear a/c.

The Pajero is reliable, cheap to maintain, and very field repairable.

scratch the Defender. it has exclusivity, it has capability, but it doesn't have everyday comfort and practicality.

GU patrol is capable, flashy too hehe. the americans will be thrilled by this because its not available in the US and its a legend there hehehe

Pajero... gen3? the most carlike of the three

I was able to see a Defender last week sa may N. Domingo malapit sa Broadway Centrum, a green one and it looked so brutal, enthusiast lang talaga ang magkakagusto.

yeah, but the Defender (if not used for extreme trail work) would just be for the novelty factor... the Patrol will be the sensible choice (right at home whether at the hotel driveway or at a muddy trail)

mas mahal yung D110 kesa Patrol or Pajero ata

Any idea how much is the brand new Defender 110? Our budget is up to 3.5M, insurance included and all options.
Do I really have to get insurance, is it worth getting one?
Personally, gusto ko sana yung Land Cruiser VX, kaso super mahal pala.

Aalisin ko na yung D110 sa listahan. The other two will easily beat it in road comfort while easily keeping up with it in most recreational trails. For extreme trailwork (OR extreme posers) ang Defender.

Insurance is required (at least for a year).

I'd just get myself a Patrol and use the excess money to build it up to my specs.

LC100 na Dubai is Php 4.4M nowadays. LC120 ang pasok sa budget.

Prado is a no no. Okay sana ang Touareg pero ang mahirap dyan ay maintenance. Saka diesel pa rin ang hanap namin.
Any news if Nissan would upgrade their Patrol Diesel engine to Common Rail? as well as Pajero?

Teka teka, mahal ang Toaureg, di ba? Kapatid ng Cayenne yan. Nakakadala kasi ang VW dealer dito sa Pinas. Hindi sila magaling mag-alaga ng sasakyan. Kaya talagang no-no.

mahal ang parts ng defender chaka mahirap maghanap. patrol na lang. its 3 liter diesel engine is enough. you dont need a common rail engine

i've ridden a defender 110 and frankly, i dont understand why the price is that high. its probably good off raod (we only road this on city roads) but riding it is like riding the old box type LCs of the 80s.

if i were to choose, i would get the patrol and still have a lot of excess money to either upgrade (tires, suspension makeover [highly recommended], sound system, etc) or even get another vehicle, hehehehe

i am a bit lukewarm to the new pajero. somehow the design does not appeal to me. siguro, pag SUV, mas gusto ko pa yung quadrado and brusko tignan. the old pajero gen 2 appeals to me more

with a 3.5M budget, the last time i read a price list at toyota pampanga the LC100 was peggged at 3.7M...so kung kaya i-stretch ang budget then i'll go for the LC100.

LR Defenders are hardworking no-nonsense vehicles, thats is why there's no creature comfort, i have nothing against it if you have money to burn these 4x4 beast then why not.

Gen 3 Pajeros have a strong 4m41 TDiC and IFS on all four so expect a carlike ride, nothing more that i'll add to that.

Patrol-well be sure to add turbo timer because more and more cases i hear that the achilles heel of the diesel fed patrol is the turbo...90K ang replacement and walang surplus nito.

Good Luick...sarap ng problema ninyo
