for me, i just dont like the sentra. even if its much bigger than a city/vios. bigger body, small engine may relate to increase fuel consumption. unlike the city/vios which has a smaller body paired with the right engine, lower fuel consumption.
well for the lynx naman, i have yet to get in one. i dont like the rims of the lynx gsi..if i could swap them for the ghia type..im considering this one na.
I've driven the new Sentra quite a few times. All I can say, it's a lot bigger than the LEC, Series 3. More leg and head room, and trunk space. Acceleration is normal. Fuel consumption is average, just learn how to drive with a light foot. And as always, the aircon is cold. Antartic cold. Put in 2, and you're in North Pole. Love that feature.
In the end, I don't mind having a Sentra. I'm not really a speed demon, flashy-look-at-my-ride person. The Sentra gives me an amorphous aura and it doesn't bother me at all.
Ford Lynx? Haven't driven one. So I'll not comment on that.
Both models have a low resale value if that concerns you. Mind you, a lot people do. For what reason, I don't know. Maybe it's a business thing or a prestige thing or whatever thing.
My advise: test drive both models. You'll enjoy in the process. Good luck!
Erh. If you want comfort, go for the Sentra, it'll be softer over most bumps, but will run out of suspension travel on really bad potholes and roads. If you want comfortable DRIVING, go for the Lynx. Handling is far and away better, and more secure. The suspension is firmer (even in the lower models), but still okay.
Engine-wise, that 1.3 is really too small for the newer Sentra bodies. I've had the Sentra FE 1.3, and it was a blast, but a lot of previous FE owners complained when they moved over to the 1.3 GX that it was too heavy for the engine.
AC, if it continues in the Sentra tradition, will be solid. It's about the only thing I miss about the Sentra (Exalta STA... yes, we had 2 Sentras at the same time) after going over to the Lynx.
Test drive nalang, then you pick. But be warned, mahirap nang maghanap ng Lynx, so you'll have to shop around the different dealerships... but the incentives are definitely worth it.

i just checked the website of ford phil. GSi is priced at 600K+, LSi is at 570K+. are we talking about the LSi here or the GSi talaga? so ibig sabihin more than 100K ang discount for the GSi?

We own a 4y/o and still doing great! My friend got himself a 1.3 Sentra and his regrets everytime he gets to ride our lynx (no offense po sa 1.3 Sentra owners)
