Help Prado VX 97 or Expedition 2001?

Hi thinking of getting an suv, which would be better choice? a Prado VX 97 or Expedition 2001

Prado was always been my choice, but year 97 in two years its gonna hit the 10th year mark. Any ideas about the two.

if you ask me, I'll get the Exped 2k1 if I have the money to burn. reasons for comfort, face value, & only 4 years old.

IF you decide to get the Expedition 2k1, however, check first if it has the cruise control switch recall problem.

i would assume that your future suv wont be seeing rocky trails and off road paths.. i highly suggest the expedition..in many ways it is better than the old VX..besides suvs arent known to be economical

OT: how about a nissan patrol GU 2001. IMHO it has better value than both and no model changes yet until, probably, 2008.

kung parehong sariwa, id go for the prado, 4x4 n u can't beat japanese quality. the expe is comfy but 4x2 n is a gas guzzler. so prado for me.

yep prado for me also. dito may expe every six months change brake pads, mostly highway use siya.

prado is smaller and much more nimble, sa stock hindi siya maka compare sa ride but can be made to ride better, also it has full time 4wd a plus factor.

ngak manila streets ka lagi? expedition usually nasa 4km..but can go as low as 3km heavy traffic

im not really sure of the VX prado but a 97 land cruiser v8 does 3km city driving

these cars will make any environmentalist crazy out of their minds

Are you sure yan na pagpipilian mo? expedition mga 4-4.5 yan city driving, i had an 03 model sold it with 12000kms. on the odo, reason for selling bihira ko magamit ang hirap gamitin pang araw-araw. Usually nagagamit ko lang ito pagwikends pero after ko sya idrive parang pagod na pagod ako dahil sobra sa laki pati sa pagpark sa mall pahirapan. Kung sa province ka nakatira ok sana exped since walang traffic and puro highway dadaanan mo. Ang bad trip lang sa mga v8 ang bilis magdepreciate ng price at mahirap pa ibenta in the future dahil takot sila sa konsumo ng gas nito. For me include mo na sa choices mo patrol at pajero na fm gen 2.5.....imho

The main value i see with an Exped is if you have a family (two to three kids plus yayas) and you drive out of town a lot. But if you plan to drive it in Manila on a daily basis think twice... resale value (not to mention, its hard to sell) and service will also hit you hard. Most i know, naka display nalang sa garahe.

I'd probably pick the Prado. It may be older but its sturdier and the value will stick.

Why not consider other options like the Patrol and Pajero?

mine has a 1KZ-TE diesel engine 7-8km/liter i think hehe..bihira kasi ako mag full tank doon ang laki ng tank...:p
