Default 92 Corolla GL or 92 Galant MPi?

92 Corolla GL 1.6L (Carb) or 92 Galant MPi 1.8L (Fuel Injected) ano po mas maganda dito? Malaki ba diff sa fuel consumption between a 1.6 Liter Carb at 1.8 Liter Fuel Injected? If your gonna choose between this two models, same price, same conditons w/c one would you choose and why po?

the 92 galant MPI is a 4G63 NA engine, it's 2.0L (we're talking about the Philippines model here of course).

the corolla 1.6L has a 4AF engine (99hp yata) the galant has 141hp. so it's WAY more powerful (and way more gasoline-thirsty). not to mention the galant will have more expensive parts, more expensive sicknesses (wanna bet you'll have to have the idle servo fixed right off?) plus it's EFI so more expensive in general to fix.

plus any neighborhood mechanic, even in the provinces, can fix a corolla. you would not believe, the HARDWARE STORE in the barangay where my parents live in Lingayen, Pangasinan, sells corolla AE92 engine supports, among other things..

a friend has an AE92 corolla, i think he gets 7-8km/L. i would expect the galant to get 5-6km/L (both city driving). my basis for the latter is, first, another friend has a corona EX 2.0 and gets 5-6km/L and i have a mazda 626 2.0 and i also get this mileage (5-6). all manual tranny of course.

The MPI is notorious for having AT troubles. Kung MT ok lang...

Also, the MPI doesn't have 141HP, it only uses the base model SS engine, yung GTi ang naka 141HP.
