mazda3 2.0 or ford focus?

as i understand it, the pricing is just about the same. the guts is just about the same, too. so what does one have over the other?

offhand, all i can think of is, the mazda3 looks better (but i haven't seen the focus in person yet). and the focus has the remote windows and the refrigerated (?) glovebox.

if not for the focus' ugly butt i'd say they are almost at par..but the mz3 still looks better front n rear.

hmmm.. read the other thread.. the dual-zone climate control sounds like a nice touch. BMW on the cheap does the mazda3 2.0 have a "true" climate control system with temp control you can dial in, or the "fiddle-a-blower" system?

mazda 3 doesnt have dual zone.

ford focus has independent left and right control variable by a maximum of 4 degrees C.

Sir orly_andico hindi ko masyado ma intindihan yung question niyo pero ito massabi ko. The mazda 3 2.0R has an automatic climate control system but it's only single zone climate control. The focus on the other hand has a separate control for the driver and passenger side.

I would take the Mazda 3 anytime over the Ford Focus.
1. In terms of styling, the Mazda 3 would suit me better since I'm just in college. I look at the focus kasi as a more mature car. Suits people who can't afford to buy those Accords, Camrys, Cefiros and LUMINAS but wants a more formal/executive look.
2. Features wise, The 3 and the Focus has an advantage over the other so its up to the consumer which stuff they prefer.
The 3 comes with the moonroof, bigger and better looking alloys with higher grip tires, automatic headlights and wiper system, better looking gauges.
The focus on the other hand comes with power driver's seat, dual zone climate control, driver information system, rear aircon vents, European car like key fob, and all the windows are one-touch (don't know if the 3 has this)
3. Price, The Focus is cheaper by 11k at 919K(exactly the same price as the Corolla 1.8G) but I still find better value with the 3 because it has a stronger engine and features which i prefer like the power moonroof and bigger alloys.

M3 pa rin..hehe tama si glntvr more mature looking ang focus. focus focuses on comfort, while the M3 focuses on sport styling.

His question on the mazda3 wasn't about dual zone. Just if you can set the temp you want, which you can in the auto climate of the 2.0R.

oh, sorry. no, you can't digitally set a specific temperature in the 3 R.

Hindi ba? Oo ata. Sa 1.6 models lang ata hindi. I remember fiddling with the a/c of the 3 R test unit. Dun sa red lit na LCD sa dash makikita yung temp

Yeah, I thought so too... it wouldn't be "auto" climate if you can't put in the temp you want the system to maintain...would it?

Mazda 3 2.0R is also my choice because it looks sporty and suits my age too. Ford Focus looks too conservative for me. IMO,

Both cars area great but ill opt for the 3 2.0 if I had to make a choice. I like the way the 3 looks. Its got euro styling and superb handling even with stock suspension. its a bit stiff but rewarding. The ford focus is more of a family car. comfy ride although I feel its 1.8 liter engine is not enough. So dont look for performance. Even the 3 1.6 feels quicker than the focus. The focus strong points are comfort and luxury that comes with it. So itll depend on what youre going to use it for but even if I had a family with 3 or 4 members id still opt for the da 3 2.0. Its just looks great and the package thats included like 17" rims, sunroof can be very tempting let alone the looks of the car.....zoom zoom!!!!

like what the guys already said above, u know the strong and appeal points of each car. now try to match that with your priority and test drive both to really see which u like best. let us know which you got. can't go wrong with either one though.
