Default Lancer to Corolla

I currently have a 1996 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi M/T

I am enjoying 10km/l fuel consumption on the average....

I am planning to upgrade to a newer model maybe a:

1. 2000 Toyota Corolla GLi M/T
2. 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer MX M/t or A/T

Budget will be 300k to 360k.....

Will i enjoy the same fuel consumption for the newer cars? But I am more
into Corolla since Mitsubishi cars tend to have more suspension problems that Toyota cars (pls correct me if i am wrong)

dealers tend to exaggerate their low fuel consumption rates...so better ask and search for answers from co-enthusiasts from different forums.

for toyota, there's grupotoyota

for mitsubishi, there [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

hmmm. i've been a mitsu user since time immemorial....
sa lahat ng nagamit kong lancer, simula singkit, itlog tsaka yung pizza ko ngayon, talagang mabilis maglangitngit yung suspension. i really don't know why. pag tinataas naman wala naman kaming makitang problema. i also don't know kung yung problem na yun eh still existing sa mga bagong lancers.

since you have already tried owning a mitsu, my suggestion is why don't you try using a corolla? corolla's are really reasonable pagdating sa maintenance plus wala sila nung suspension noises na na-eexperience natin sa lancers. fuel consumption wise i think, medyo pareho lang sila. both of them can average around 9 kms/liter city and up to 11 kms/liter highway.

ako, i am sure that this will be the last year of my lancer. i've concreted my plans in getting either a CRV or a Civic VTI-S by October this year. tama na rin siguro na sumubok na ako ng iba.

although aesthetics wise, i still prefer the lancer over the corolla. and the invecs tranny nung MX is really great.

imho ulit.

sana nga umabot yung budget ko either a 1.3 Vios or a 1.3 Jazz or City....

anyways, more inputs are also welcome...

how about honda civic vti 99? ang alam ko kasi sa honda mahal ang parts and at the same time may suspension problems din like lancers....

imho, di naman ganung ka-mahal na yung parts ng civic. before ganun ang impression, but may mga aftermarket parts na rin dyan.

Regarding 2000 Corolla (AE111 chassis).

If you regularly have people sitting in the rear seats, you might want to consider against this car. The rear seats have poor legroom, especially if the people sitting at the front are relatively tall.

Given the above reason, the older model corolla (AE101) or the current Corolla Altis would be a better Toyota option.

ghosthunter,

medyo cramped nga yung likod nung AE111 corolla because one of my officemate owns one... but hands down ako sa suspension.

Ano ba yung latest year model ng AE101 corolla?
