i don't think the altis looks like a space ship. the 1.8G is like the executive version of the corolla while the 2.0 is like the sport version of the civic. depends cguro on image you want

pareho naman silang A/T eh. depends on the preference of the driver..the altis 1.8 G is for those who want luxury and comfort. while the civic 2.0 is for those aspiring boy racers who prefers sporty appointments 7 nimble handling.

i-vtec engine 2.0 litre AT = 5-6 km/liter
vvti engine 1.8 liter AT = 8-9 km/liter
I don't think I would want to spend that much on gas just to look good!

Well, parts eventually be a problem with the civic 2.0 because of the policy of honda casa. While toyota parts would be available from shops outside the casa.

between the two, i'd choose the altis 1.8G. the 1ZZ-FE engine is really something!!! imagine, it can almost match the output of the 1AZ-FE engine (2.0L of the Rav4)! the torque output is more useful of our traffic conditions. plus, fuel consumption is around 8-9 km/L.

on the other hand, i've been hearing of some bad inputs for the i-vtec engine because of its gas guzzling tendencies. plus the torque output is just way dismal for a 2.0L engine.

i used to admire hondas. but i would prefer altis than civic. mas sportier ang itsura. saka in the long-term ownership, mas mura ang spare parts ng toyota kesa honda.
