Default Ford Escape, Nissan X-Trail or Toyota Rav4

Gurus,

Need your help very badly...

Am planning to purchase a smaller suv for my wife. 4x2 lang kasi she has a hard time driving pajero (masyado raw malaki and ingay daw ng diesel)

Well anyway, choices are escape, xtrail and rav4.

I really like escapes look pero sabi ng marami mahal daw piesa ng ford and ford only give 2 years warranty compared to the other 2.

Xtrail naman looks good na rin pero i hate the boxy interiors pero compared to the other 2 feature wise maganda. Pero am worried naman of bad service of nissan.

Rav4 naman I really like the looks pero my sabi naman ng barkada ko magpapalit na raw ito ng face next year...

Need your inputs naman.

Thanks a lot

naku, matagal pa ata yun model change ng rav4... siguro, until 2006 pa. it just went a midlife change... new lights, bumper, interior...

i think the rav4 would best suit your wife... maliit lang sya. easy to manuver... plus cute sya hehehe.

A/T ba gusto ni misis? the FWD RAV4 is available only in M/T right (if that's a concern)? the 2nd-generation RAV4 was introduced in 2001, it's possible that an all-new model will be introduced late next year (2005) as a 2006 model (purely speculating here).

consider mo rin siguro yung FWD CR-V 5-seater, but Honda parts are also a bit expensive unless maghanap ka; i suppose your parts/service options are not as limited as with the Escape though.

Also changed the Crv of my wife, and the choices were between a Rav4 and Xtrail. The Escape was kinda "slow" vs the others. Got the Nissan Xtrail- needed a 4x2, auto, ABS, airbags, large carrying space, very good ride. Also nissan engine is pretty strong for its size. Nissan service?- Didn't have any problems with Cefiro for 4yrs and It's got a 3yr warranty too.
Best to test drive before deciding.

RAV4 AT. Kung grocery getter and kid sundo machine, pwedeng pwede. Fast, Adequately powered. Reliability is an understatement. Right sized.... for me at least. Very pretty inside and out. and believe me..... PARTS ARE INEXPENSIVE.

People look good when driving RAV4s. Own one to believe hehe.

Im sure if you weigh all of these factors in, the RAV will come out on top. Its a toyota.

Gurus,

Thanks to all your helpful inputs with regards to RAV4, At least peace of mind na rin consideringf matagal pa pala yun change looks nito. yun lang nga manual lang sya for 4x2. which dapat uli namin pagusapan.

Do you have any news concerning the 4x2 1.8 SV? Matipid ba? And is the engine good?

I really like escapes interior kaso lang nga ford is giving 2 yrs lang and parts daw are very expensive according to a firend of mine who owns a expedition.

Mbt, di ko kasi type crv, in terms of lokks and sabi ng marami lakas daw sa gas. Totoo ba ito?

Jackaroo, kamusta pala yun km/ltr ng xtrail. O sana pero hate the interiors kasi, pero overall feature wise ok sana. Pero pricewise pinakamahal din at 1,099,000 compared to the other 2 lless than 1M.

Thanks a lot for all your very helpful inputs

lancelot,
me too if i were to buy my wife a car it would be a RAV4, ok lang naman kung manual, mas ok nga if she knows how to drive a manual car, madali na lang ang transistion if in the future if you'll be buying her again a matic car.

congrats sa wife mo and drive safely

i rode on a 2.0 4x4 RAV4 na A/T one last last week...

test drive mo muna kung sakali...maybe i woke up a bit cranky that day, pero parang matagtag ung likod nya...pero ok lang naman

Still, i'd got for the RAV4...the only thing i don't like about it is the price tag B).
