Wala namang dent but nagkulay black ang 3 lines. Silver Altis 08 ang car ko.

Salamat po.

Mga Gurus,

First time poster and first time car buyer po. I'm thinking of getting the Altis 2.0V model, hingi sana ako ng advice and recommendations from you guys.

Reason I'm choosing Altis 2.0V is because of all the features it has, para na akong naka camry ang dating, yung convenience ng features, etc.

Sana matulungan niyo ako sa mga questions:

1. Good choice po ba ang 2.0V Altis?

2. Ano po usual discount na pwedeng mahingi from the agent.

3. I'm also attracted with the Multimedia Entertainment system na promo ng Toyota. 35k yung promo price, ok ba itong system na to? May nakita akong alternative na mas mura from China, mas marami ding features, pero mababa yung resolution ng LCD atsaka medyo panget yung GUI nya.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Meron din mga iba pa from China, pero I'm thinking is it safer na just go with the Toyota one?

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

4. Anong Toyota branch po best na puntahan?

Thanks in advance

1. Why do you need the 2.0 over the 1.6V?

2. Dunno

3. Pagawa mo nalang sa labas - usually cheaper and you get higher quality stuff. Not sure who the specialists are though.

4. Dunno

5. Soft ride parang floaty yung feeling e - some people like it and some don't.

Sir MDA thanks po sa reply.

As mentioned po sa previous post ko, the reason po na I'm thinking of getting the 2.0V vs the 1.6V, apart from the upgrade sa engine power, are the features that this model has over the 1.6V.

Some of the features po that I'm talking about are:

- Push Start Button
- Auto Rain Sensor
- HID Headlights
- Leather Seats
- Power 8-way Seat Adjustments
- Paddle Shifts
- Smart Entry Keyless Device

These features po I believe can be found sa 3.5Q model ng Camry, which is way too expensive for me. City driving lang po kasi ako, so ang habol ko po, is the convenience and features of a luxury car, without the need to actually buy one

Thanks!

My personal thoughts on your comments:
1. Engine power. There's definitely a lot of that in the 2.0 over the 1.6, but there are other cars to choose from for more power. Lancer/Civic/Impreza come to mind.

2. Features:
Push Start - more of a novelty than a useful feature.

Auto Rain Sensor - A little more function but I think it's easy enough to use the normal lever

HID - Most other cars in the 2.0 range have HID headlights too.

Leather Seats - Can't complain. Maganda talaga yung OEM leather seats.

8-way power seat adjustments - I like this but is it really needed? I'd rather have a car with memory for seat settings :p

Paddle Shifts - Medyo odd kasi you pair paddle shifts with a 4 speed automatic transmission. Doesn't sound sporty hehe, parang kulang ng isa pang gear, which is why I don't like the Impreza AT either. "Sporty" car, good engine, but unsporty and letdown yung transmission.

Smart Keyless Entry Device - Not sure what this does, pero parang the most compacts now have a built in alarm where you can push a button on your key to lock/unlock your car? Pag lapit mo palang mag uunlock na yung car? Nice feature to have din pero not exactly necessary?

3. Re: the dashkit, there are dash kits available which replaces your dashboard and leaves a space for a custom head unit. Not sure where you can look to get a good deal though.

4. In my *personal opinion*, there are just better cars for 1.1M unless you're after pure luxury and even then, I'd rather get the 1.6V for the pure practicality of it since you only do city driving.

Hope this helps.

- Push Start Button

> Not really needed. You could just turn on the car in a normal way, twisting the key.

- Auto
Rain Sensor

> Normal type will do

- HID Headlights

> As what sir MDA said, HID comes in most 2.0 vehicles

- Leather Seats

> I never liked leather seats on cars. It's just me BTW. When the sun is high, your seat will get so hot too. Fabric is enough.

- Power 8-way Seat Adjustments

>

- Paddle Shifts

> The 1.8S A/T Civic comes in with Paddle Shifters too, and it's below 1M.

- Smart Entry Keyless Device

> Is this the keyless entry ? Most cars comes with this.

> ALL IN ALL, THERE ARE A LOT OF CHEAPER CARS TO CHOOSE FROM WITH ALMOST THE SAME FEATURES. THE CIVIC IS PRACTICAL AND SO DOES THE LANCER.

IF YOU'D OPT FOR THE ALTIS, JUST GET THE 1.6V or 1.8V if available.

Replied to your PM na sir about the ownership feedback. As for the features you mentioned:

Push Start Button
* Pretty nifty feature. Hindi siya kailangan, pero it's a nice touch. My mom is in love with this single feature alone. I could do without it, though. It shouldn't be your sole reason to get a 2.0V.

Auto Rain Sensor
* A lot of other compacts have this. I think all 2.0 models have it.

HID Headlights
* Super liwanag. Lights up your path well. Yun nga lang you can always retrofit, and like rain sensors, a lot of other 2.0 models have this.

Leather Seats
* Masarap upuan. Mainit pag maaraw. Mabango din pag bago. But really, the Altis has comfortable seats.

Power 8-way Seat Adjustments
* Like the push-button, another luxury feature. This is more useful though, with manual adjustments kasi, it's not as precise. Yun nga lang kung madami kayong magddrive wala siyang memory setting so you have to adjust it per driver every time.

Paddle Shifts
* Has proven useful to me during highway overtaking as well as pag biglang kailangang umarangkada using 1st gear. Then again you can put it in S-mode and let the car do the shifting.

Smart Entry Keyless Device
* Like the power seats and push button, it's a unique luxury feature. But this one's mighty useful. No need to get the keys. Pag nagmamadali ka lagi maaappreciate mo 'to.

Strictly speaking, the Altis has the most toys in the compact car segment because Toyota decided to trickle down some of the Camry's features.

That said, if you enjoy the features, get the Corolla. It's worth it.

If you want a better drive with still a lot of features, get the Civic 2.0S.
If you have money to burn, Lancer GT-A.
Another bang for the buck 2.0 is the Mz3 2.0R but it's a 5 year old model and will be replaced soon.
If you want raw power, get a Focus Diesel. Ang tindi ng hatak nun.

Basically the 2.0 segment is the most crowded (ironically eto rin yung pinakamababa benta kasi mahal) niche of the compact car segment.
Lower end models usually Civic and Altis lang naglalaban. Or pag mas mababa pa dun Sentra vs Lancer vs Vios vs City.

Slightly OT, but baka gusto nalang ni supermanila ng 2.4G Camry.

Nasa 1.1M na yung Corolla 2.0V, the Camry 2.4G is only 300k away

I'd do away with some the luxury features for a better car (lack of the immobilizer is a letdown though).

Possibly. But usually 2.0V buyers are those that want as much Camry as possible but would be stretching their budget too much for one (like us). 300k is a lot these days.

thanks for the inputs mga gurus. why do I have the impression na you're telling me either go down to 1.6V, or buy a different 2.0 liter car, wag lang Altis 2.0V?

hehe, pero tama po si sir jut703, I'm after the camry 3.5Q features, but I can't afford one. I know din po 300k nalang camry 2.4G na, but I can't stretch 300k pa anymore, besides, yung features po ng camry 2.4G medyo limited din po, although of course it's already a camry

Silver ata yan. Eto yung kay green machine, medium silver (taken from page 43 of this thread):

If you're gonna get a 2.0V I'd suggest the pearl white option. Para parang naka-mini Camry ka na :P
Personally gusto ko rin yung black. Ang elegant.

sir correct me if i'm wrong ito po yata yung silver, mas darker po ata yung pinost ko sa taas eh...

I agree with you sir medyo classy yung black, yung pearl white kasi, although maganda sya, I can't shake the feeling na medyo taxi yung kulay, no offense to pearl white owners
